News and Events /RUSSIAN POET ALEXANDER PUSHKIN REMEMBERED

New Delhi, February 21, 2007: Poets, writers and journalists assembled at the Russian Centre of Science & Culture, 24, Ferozeshah Road, New Delhi on February 20, 2007 to participate in the Seminar-cum-Presentation, "Genius of Russian Poetry", jointly organized by Parichay Sahitya Parishad, dedicated to the Year of Russian Language and 170th Death Anniversary of outstanding Russian Poet Alexander Pushkin, paid glowing tributes to the great poet of all time in the literary world.

Ms. Urmil Satyabhushan, President, Parichay Sahitya Parishad, describing the master craftsmanship of Pushkin in poetry as a beckon light, pointed out that it still leads men of letters across the world crossing all barriers, and it will remain so for many years to come. She also read out some of her own works before the gathering. She noted that Indian poets drew immense inspiration from Pushkin.

Dr. Madan Lal Madhy and Dr. Anil Jan Vijay, who spent a long time in Russia, underscored the illuminating style of Pushkin which serves a guiding factor for young and upcoming poets and writers of India.
