News and Events / CHILDREN'S PAINTING EXHIBITION OPENED, New Delhi, April 24, 2007
The Annual Painting Exhibition by Students of the Art School at the Russian Centre of Science & Culture (RCSC), entitled "Our Latest Achievements", was opened by Mr. M. N. Seth, Vice-President, All-India Fine Arts & Crafts Society (AIFACS), at the RCSC, 24, Ferozeshah Road, New Delhi, on April 23, 2007. The Exhibition will be on view till April 29, 2007 from 10. 00 a.m. to 6. 00 p.m. every day.

Welcoming the gathering of budding artists, both Indian and Russian students at the RCSC Art School and their parents, Dr. Sergey V. Cherkas, Deputy Director, RCSC, said that the paintings drawn by young children, which are on display at the Exhibition, rightly reflected their talent and skill.
Inaugurating the Exhibition, the Chief Guest, Mr. M. N. Seth noted that children are the hope for the future of our country and their artistic contributions hold great promise for a brilliant career in their lives. He congratulated the young artists for their excellence in painting, sketching, glass-painting, clay-modeling, etc. He gave away Certificates of Merits to 20 students for their excellent performance.

Mrs. Ekaterina Pokrovskaya, in charge of the Art School, did not hide her thrill and excitement on the occasion to be a proud teacher of a group of proud students working hard to express their artistic genius. An experienced professional artist and art teacher from Russia, she gives an optimal personal attention and offers a stimulating creative environment for her students.
The Art School, founded in February, 2005, is open for all, starting from the age of five with love and enthusiasm to learn the classical ways of painting, sketching, drawing and clay-modeling. The primary objective of the Art School is to make the Russian style of drawing and painting acceptable and meaningful to a broad section of local Indian community. The courses of Art School are based on traditional Russian method of teaching, which is well-known for its professional approach and adaptation to the students of any age.
