News and Events POETRY RECITAL COMPETITION IN MEMORY OF ALEXANDER PUSHKIN
New Delhi, June 6, 2008: A Poetry Recital Competition, dedicated to the Birth Anniversary of the Greatest Russian Poet, Alexander Pushkin, jointly organized by the Russian Centre of Science & Culture and the Institute of Russian Language, was held at 24-Ferozeshah Road, New Delhi, on June 6, 2008. Students of advance course in Russian language, representing the J.N.U, D.U, Agra University and the Institute of Russian Language, RCSC, took part in the competition.

Mr. Sandeep Kumar Pandey, JNU, won the First Prize, while Ms. Seema Saini, DU, received the Second Prize, and Mr. Naved Rahmat and Mr. Sunil Kumar, both from the Institute of Russian Language, bagged the Third Prize.
Dr. Sergey V. Cherkas, Deputy Director, RCSC, and Mrs. Maria B. Pavlova, Senior Executive and Programme Coordinator, RCSC, and Mrs. Elena Cherkas distributed certificates of merit and souvenirs to the winners of the competition. Dr. Girish Munjal, Director, Institute of Russian Language, RCSC, conducted the procedings of the competition.
After the competition, Floral Tributes were paid to Alexander Pushkin's Monument in memory of the world renowned Russian poet.
